Which source answers which question?
Use Pearson for test content, scoring, account access, exam delivery and booking policies. Use the government’s exact application page for immigration evidence, and the institution’s specific course page for admission. A professional regulator’s English standard is another independent check.
If an older blog and a current official policy disagree, open the policy and check its scope and date. If two official pages appear inconsistent, keep both URLs and ask the responsible authority for clarification; do not quietly combine parts into a rule neither page states.
Start with a small, product-specific preparation set
- Read the handbook: identify the test-day, identification and account rules for your booked product.
- Check the current format: compare your materials with the Academic, Core or Home guide.
- Practise one task: use its official instructions and evaluate a response, rather than collecting files without reviewing your work.
- Use a timed check: review errors and choose the next practice target. A practice score is not an official result.
Pearson’s preparation pages identify their available free and paid options. Check the current access requirements and price before choosing; this directory does not label every linked resource as free. For a structured approach, read the practice-resource guide and mock-test review guide.
Read a score guide without turning it into an acceptance rule
The current Academic Test Taker Score Guide explains assessment and reporting. The 2026 Core Score Guide explains Core reporting and CLB mapping. Use the guide matching your product; an Academic comparison chart cannot replace Core’s ability-specific CLB ranges.
For the score you actually need, consult the receiver. Our Australia, Canada and UK guides separate the relevant authority checks. The results guide covers official report access and sharing.
Avoid outdated or misleading “resource” claims
Check whether a tutorial still matches the current product and task instructions. A file labelled PTE is not automatically suitable for Academic, Core and Home. Likewise, a third-party mock score, template or prediction list is not a promise of the real test questions or result.
Start official booking from Pearson’s own website and keep control of your account. Do not share a password with a resource provider or pay for a claimed score alteration. For local appointment planning, use the centre guides and booking checklist.
If a resource link has moved or its instructions appear outdated, send the exact URL and issue through our corrections contact. Do not send passport, payment or account-access details.
