Find a current Canadian PTE appointment
Start at Pearson’s official centre finder. Choose Canada as the country where you will take the exam, select the exact product, then follow the availability search for a practical city or area.
- Confirm the accepted product with your institution or immigration program.
- Search that product’s Canadian centres and dates, not a generic Pearson exam programme.
- Compare the appointment location, local time and realistic journey.
- Check the price, displayed currency, accepted ID and account details before payment.
- Save the final confirmation and recheck it before travelling.
This page does not run a seat calendar or reserve a place. A third-party city list is not confirmation that Core or Academic is offered at a particular address on your date.

Academic or Core: what are you applying for?
| Application purpose | Product to verify | Authority to check |
|---|---|---|
| University or college admission | PTE Academic | Exact institution, course and intake |
| Express Entry | PTE Core | IRCC program minimums, CLB ranges and dates |
| PGWP language evidence when required | PTE Core | IRCC study-program, language and other eligibility rules |
| Another immigration or citizenship application | Confirm the named accepted product | The exact current official application instructions |
The Canada country guide explains these receiving requirements, including the separate post-graduation work-permit language check. Do not use the Academic result accepted for admission as if that automatically satisfies later Core evidence.
Once the product is clear, search it explicitly. Taking Academic at a Canadian centre cannot turn it into Core for Express Entry. Similarly, finding a Core appointment does not establish university admission acceptance.
Testing in Canada versus testing in India
Your destination and testing country are different choices. Pearson offers Core through an international centre network, so an applicant in India does not need to assume a trip to Canada simply to take it. Use the India location guide if you will sit the test there.
If you are already in Canada, compare the current local options and travel costs. If considering a different country, check that country’s ID policy and practical entry/travel requirements separately. A booking does not grant permission to travel.
As a planning example, compare a reachable local appointment several days later with an earlier appointment requiring a flight. Include transport, possible accommodation, arrival buffer and the receiving deadline. The earliest calendar slot is not automatically the lowest-risk plan.

Core identification: the Canadian PR-card distinction
Pearson’s current Core ID policy accepts a passport anywhere and a Canadian Permanent Resident Card in Canada only. That is a product- and country-specific rule, not permission to use the card for every PTE test or a Core appointment in India.
For Academic, read its separate passport and country-exception rules. The document must match the one selected in your booking and the identity details in your account. A phone image, photocopy or temporary document is not a substitute for the required physical ID under the general policy.
If your document situation falls under the refugee, immigrant or stateless-person process, contact Pearson before scheduling as its policy directs. Do not book first and assume the centre will approve an exception at check-in.

Read the whole appointment confirmation
- Product: Academic or Core, matching the receiving requirement.
- Location: full centre name, building, suite/floor and entrance instructions.
- Time: the stated local date and time at the testing location.
- Payment: final amount and currency, plus the applicable change terms.
- Identity: matching personal details and the accepted original document.
- Arrangements: any formally approved accommodation, not simply an assumption about a centre’s facilities.
Canada has multiple time zones. If you are booking while in India or travelling between cities, make sure your calendar reflects the appointment’s local time. Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early for check-in, adding transport contingency separately.
If a city search shows no suitable seat
Check the product and selected search area first. Compare another date or a reachable location in Pearson’s flow. A missing seat is not a reason to substitute the wrong product or pay someone promising access outside the official system.
Keep control of your myPTE account and read the booking/change guide before cancelling or moving an appointment. If you need an accommodation, follow Pearson’s process before scheduling; requests should be made at least six weeks before the chosen date and may need longer review.
After testing, use the results guide to access the official report. For PR, complete the IRCC program and validity check; the appointment itself does not establish that your eventual scores will satisfy the program.

Frequently asked questions
Is Core an online test from home?
No. Pearson’s Core FAQ specifies test-centre delivery. Preparation online is different from the official exam appointment.
Does a Canadian PR card work for Core in India?
No. Pearson’s PR-card option is accepted for Core testing in Canada only. Check the correct testing-country ID requirement.
Are Academic and Core available at every Canadian address?
Do not assume so. Search the exact product and date. A general centre name or old directory cannot establish current availability for both.
